The Special Court of Appeal against Corruption and Organized Crime has rejected former footballer Igli Tare’s request to have a villa on the Palasë coast released from seizure. With this decision, the asset security measure remains in force and the property continues to be under the administration of the authorities, while financial investigations into him are ongoing.

The luxury property in the south of the country was seized as part of procedures aimed at determining the source of the capital invested in it. Justice authorities are verifying suspicions of Tare’s involvement in concealing assets and laundering the proceeds of criminal activity.
The case has also been linked to former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku. According to public reports and materials being reviewed by investigators, the property in Palasë may have been used to conceal connections that would have enabled the former senior official to avoid official exposure and asset declarations. The joint investigation by GJKKO and SPAK is continuing to clarify the entire scheme.
