State prosecutor Ermal Demhasaj has been appointed coordinator for domestic violence cases for an indefinite period. The decision was made by Valbona Disha-Haxhosaj, acting chief prosecutor of the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Peja, as part of the office’s internal organization and coordination of work.
After being appointed to the position by the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Disha-Haxhosaj met with all the state prosecutors at the office. According to a media statement, she urged them to show greater dedication and vigilance in carrying out their duties, particularly while on call, so that every case is handled professionally and promptly.

The statement also said Disha-Haxhosaj assured the prosecutors of her continued support and her willingness to work with them whenever intervention or assistance from the office’s leadership is needed.
The acting chief prosecutor also met with the administrative staff of the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Peja. She called for greater commitment and intensity at work, full compliance with legal provisions and professional fulfillment of their responsibilities, to avoid potential oversights and manage administrative work and processes as efficiently as possible.
Disha-Haxhosaj stressed that cooperation, institutional responsibility and coordination among all employees are important for the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Peja to continue fulfilling its mandate and legal obligations.
