Over the previous five days, citizens have taken to the streets to demand justice for Arlinda Zekaj and accountability from institutions for her killing.
Arlinda Zekaj was killed on October 25 in Vitomirica, Peja. The case has prompted widespread reaction, particularly following reports that she had previously sought protection from institutions because of violence and threats.
The case has again drawn attention to women’s safety, how domestic violence is handled and the obligation of institutions to prevent femicide.

With today’s protest, organizers aim to sustain public mobilization against violence toward women and the demand for justice for victims.
