The Supreme Court has decided not to accept the appeal filed by former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, leaving unchanged the security measure of “suspension from the exercise of duties” against the former senior official.
Balluku requested the revocation of the measure, arguing that she no longer holds public office and that, consequently, the suspension had no effect. The Criminal Chamber, however, decided not to accept the appeal.

The former deputy prime minister is under investigation for corruption, money laundering and abuses involving road tenders. The measure preventing her from leaving the country also remains in force.
Meanwhile, the majority voted down SPAK’s request for authorization to arrest the former minister.
