The 27th Day of the Protest in Front of the Prime Minister’s Office, Citizens Repeat Their Non-Negotiable Demand for Edi Rama’s Removal

The citizen protest demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the removal of the government has today reached its 27th day, while mass participation continues to be seen in central Tirana.

As every day, a large number of citizens are expected to gather in the square in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, where, alongside the removal of the current government, they are also demanding a change to what they call the “old political caste,” as well as the reform of the establishment that, according to them, has dominated the country’s political life for 36 years.

The gatherings are held every evening. Initially, protesters assemble in front of the Prime Minister’s Office building, after which they march through the main streets of the capital, expressing their dissatisfaction through banners, chants, and public speeches.

Participants emphasize that the protests are peaceful and see them as proof of civic engagement, but also as a democratic exercise of the right to protest.

According to the citizens, the country needs a profound political and institutional transformation, as well as a new model of governance and representation.
