Spiropali strongly condemns the Serbian minister’s statement: Europe must react to verbal barbarism

It is shocking to hear a high representative of an executive that aims for membership in the European Union, openly express regret that more innocent people were not massacred in Kosovo, including children, women and the elderly.

This stance does not constitute a political platform, but a despicable verbal act. God protect us from this monstrous being who applauds and glorifies atrocities.

Our continent cannot remain silent in the face of such rhetoric. Anyone who justifies or expresses sorrow for crimes that remained incomplete cannot be considered a fellow traveler of European principles. That person must face consequences on the political, institutional and above all human level.

Kosovo did not receive freedom as a gift from anyone, but paid for it with human lives. Europe has the honor and obligation to preserve the memory of the fallen, which serves as the cornerstone of the values upon which it itself was built.

If Belgrade’s aspiration to join the European family is sincere, then it cannot afford to be apathetic in the face of this macabre outburst of words, which at the very least strips it of dignity and in the worst case undermines peace and good neighborliness.
