This is Artan Murtaj, the 44-year-old who was killed in today’s attack in Sarandë. Myrtaj, also known as “Tani Ruzhdiut,” had an extensive criminal record and was involved in a shooting a year ago.

Myrtaj was involved in the July 17, 2025 incident in Sarandë’s No. 4 neighborhood, where Ernest Lama and Gëzim Hajdaraj from Kamza were shot and wounded.
The shooter was 44-year-old Ramadan Zoto, while Artan Murtaj, Klaus Jacaj and Erjon Canaj assisted him during the incident and his escape.
After this incident, a cycle of revenge began in Sarandë, in which Klaus Jacaj’s father, Isuf Jacaj, was killed with explosives, while there was also an incident involving the destruction of Ramadan Zoto’s property.
Ramadan Zoto is currently in prison for the shooting of Lama and Hajdaraj, while Artan Myrtaj and Klaus Jacaj, who were charged with “assisting the perpetrator of the crime,” were released recently. Only Erjon Canaj remains wanted.
Artan Myrtaj is also known to be a drug user and was previously convicted of “theft.”
