According to Reuters, the White House has requested restrictions on a satellite system Ukraine uses for communication on the front lines and for drone operations.

Two US officials told the agency that the Department of Defense received a message from the head of the Trump administration requesting restrictions on SpaceX’s Starshield service, which is used by the Ukrainian armed forces.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity and did not say which White House official made the decision or who was tasked with implementing it.
Starshield, the military version of Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite communications service, counts the Pentagon as its largest customer. In recent days, Ukrainian officials have reported that Starlink receivers in Ukraine did not work when installed on vehicles moving at high speed.
The outages damaged the performance and effectiveness of Ukrainian drones, which use the receivers for integrated guidance systems during operations inside Ukrainian territory. A source in Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said on Thursday that the devices now also work while moving, but only at speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour.
