Prime Minister Edi Rama took part in a discussion with young people gathered at the Rin Camp 2026 camp.
Answering their questions, he focused on Albania’s process of joining the European Union and announced that, within the next few days, the first three chapters of this process will also be concluded.

“The opening of negotiations was refused to us three times, even though the European Commission had recommended it. Our relations with the Netherlands, which had been the most difficult among EU countries, changed completely because of a Roma-Feyenoord match.
Thousands of people and journalists came and saw the reality, that Albania was not about drugs, criminality and what was being said. Membership is a comprehensive process. I will first go to Paris for an event, then I will go to Brussels to close the chapters.
We opened all the chapters in record time because we had prepared, and now their closure will begin. We will close the first three chapters on July 14. This is trust but verify. The SP has a historic mission that has happened to be entirely in our hands, membership in the EU.
This is the mission of the SP and my mission. I have believed in it since it seemed impossible, let alone now that the finish line is visible. If this happens, history will treat us very well,” Rama said.
