The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Tetovo has launched an investigative procedure against a 20-year-old man from the village of Reçica e Madhe, suspected of several criminal offenses related to cybercrime.

According to the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office, during a several-month preliminary investigation conducted under the coordination of a public prosecutor, evidence was secured creating reasonable suspicion that the young man committed the criminal offense of “Computer Fraud,” provided for under Article 251-b of the Criminal Code. He is suspected of having administered an illegal group on the “Telegram” communication application during 2025–2026, where services and software programs for fraud involving the illegal return of funds were offered.
The 20-year-old is also suspected of the offense of “Misuse of Personal Data,” under Article 149. According to the investigation, this offense was committed through the administration of domains and websites linked to the “OLVX” platform. The platform operated as an illegal marketplace for the sale of stolen digital data, software tools and services that enabled the commission of criminal offenses.
The main users of “OLVX” were cybercriminals who traded personal data and credentials for access to users’ accounts. While the platform was active, more than 1,500 stolen access credentials belonging to victims, individuals and legal entities were offered.
Following a search warrant issued by the court at the request of the public prosecutor, authorities searched the suspect’s home and seized two mobile phones. A total of 29 videos containing explicit sexual acts between adults and children were found in a hidden folder on one of the devices.
For this reason, the young man is also suspected of the criminal offense of “Production and Distribution of Child Pornography,” defined under Article 193-a of the Criminal Code.
Assessing that there is a clear flight risk, while the suspect faces charges for several criminal offenses and may continue his criminal activity, the public prosecutor asked the pre-trial judge at the Basic Court in Tetovo to impose the measure of pre-trial detention, the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office announced./Telegrafi/
