Prime Minister Albin Kurti received the head of the Islamic Community of Kosovo, Mufti Naim Tërnava, on Friday afternoon.

According to the statement, they discussed cooperation and progress on joint projects, solidarity, civic-mindedness, social and national values, as well as political developments in the region and beyond. The meeting also addressed the first-instance judgment by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague against former KLA leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi, which the statement described as unjust and inaccurate, as well as the work needed to succeed on appeal.
Kurti expressed his gratitude for the constructive role and valuable contribution the Islamic Community of Kosovo has made to the people.
Mufti Tërnava congratulated Kurti on the election of the new president, Justina Shiroka Pula. Her election averted the holding of a fourth parliamentary election in less than two years and enabled the restoration of institutional stability.
