I never saw him cry,” Jessica’s father reveals suspicions about her husband: She lived in fear that she might die

Maurizio Dalla Chiara, the father of Jessica, the 32-year-old woman who died in Italy in June 2024, has spoken out following the arrest of her husband, Nadir Rossi. The 35-year-old former nurse is suspected of intentionally and premeditatedly killing his wife by injecting her with insulin.

Speaking on the Italian program “Dentro la Notizia,” the victim’s father said he had suspected his son-in-law from the beginning. He described Rossi’s behavior as extremely passive and cold, while stressing that his arrest had not eased the family’s pain.

“I thought I would feel happy, but even today I am experiencing the same pain as two and a half years ago,” Maurizio said.

According to him, Rossi had shown no emotion even during the most difficult moments. “I have never seen him shed a tear, neither when his wife was lying lifeless on the floor, nor at the funeral or on any other occasion,” Jessica’s father recounted.

Investigators from the Verona Prosecutor’s Office suspect that Jessica, who worked as a nurse, was repeatedly poisoned with insulin by her husband. According to the indictment, the medication was initially administered at home and later at the hospital where she had been admitted, causing her to suffer a severe hypoglycemic crisis.

Maurizio also spoke about his daughter’s final moments. He said that while Jessica was fighting for her life at home, her husband allegedly occupied himself with quickly getting rid of the medication vials.

“He gathered them all in a bag and then threw them in the trash, as if he were trying to hide something,” he said, referring to the testimony he had received from his former wife, Loretta, Jessica’s mother.

The family was also shocked by the existence of a life insurance policy worth 100,000 euros, which Rossi allegedly collected after his wife’s death.

The victim’s father said he had not known about the insurance. He had thought the policy was related to coverage for the mortgage on the apartment purchased by the couple. Maurizio also raised suspicions about the decision to have his daughter’s body cremated without an autopsy being performed first.

According to his account, during the final period of her life Jessica was overwhelmed by anxiety and fear about her health. “She could not sleep, she was afraid she might die, and for that reason she set an alarm every two hours. She continued consuming sugar to keep her insulin under control,” he said.

The prosecution claims that Nadir Rossi repeatedly administered insulin to her, causing his wife’s health to deteriorate.

Rossi, 35, a former nurse from Bussolengo in the province of Verona, is accused of intentional and premeditated murder. He is expected to be questioned by the judge on Monday, before whom he will have the opportunity to present his version of events and address the accusations. The investigation is ongoing to clarify all the circumstances surrounding the death of the 32-year-old woman.
