Bajrami is the third candidate to publicly announce her intention to take over the leadership of the LDK. Përparim Rama announced his candidacy in October and called on Abdixhiku to resign. Deputy Arben Gashi also confirmed on Thursday on Kanal 10 that he would enter the race. Abdixhiku has said that his mandate as party leader ends in November 2027.
The deputy has been one of the most vocal critics of the LDK’s current leadership. Earlier, she resigned as deputy chairwoman and called for Abdixhiku to step down.
During the program, Bajrami also criticized the Kurti government over the energy sector, calling it the clearest example of poor governance. Referring to Customs data, she said that from January to September, Kosovo had imported electricity worth 182 million euros. According to her, citizens will pay this cost through their bills.
The widening race for the leadership of the LDK comes as the PDK also remains without an elected leader, following Bedri Hamza’s resignation in October.
