Heated debate in Parliament: Peleshi responds to Korreshi – “Some things can’t be explained with watermelons”

During the continuation of the plenary session, Democratic Party deputy Saimir Korreshi asked for the floor on a procedural matter. While his microphone was on, he tried to get the attention of the chair of the session, Niko Peleshi, who was at that moment talking to a parliamentary staff member.

Precisely at this moment, Korreshi began addressing him in an ironic tone, prompting an immediate retort from Peleshi.

Korreshi called out loudly several times: “Hey, Mr. Chairman, hello, hellooo, Mr. Chairman?” Peleshi shot back sharply: “That Mr. Chairman business, go meet him where your friends are.” The deputy continued: “Fine, but pay attention to the lesson, because we’re talking about you here and the procedure.” The chair replied: “This isn’t a folk festival, it’s a plenary session.”

The debate escalated further when Korreshi asked: “And where were you? Were you asleep? We’re looking for you.” Peleshi reacted: “Don’t you ‘you’ me, because I don’t address you with ‘you’, you…” At this point, Korreshi changed his tone and replied: “Dear and most respected Mr. Chairman, I will address you with the formal ‘you’.”

Then, the opposition deputy continued with a string of criticisms: “When we speak, we address you formally, so it’s formal, very dear and respected Mr. Chairman, about this regulation that we voted on with pomp. If you made it for toilet paper, you should have made it thinner because it scratches us. First of all, you send us in the morning at the pilaf hour, you send us to committee. On Friday, in the field again. Do you know that? Second, you come here and get all sentimental, and if you treat us and they’ve told you we’re your workers, you’re wrong! We came with the votes of those Albanians who aren’t with you, you cucumber. One of the non-negotiable demands is Chapter 27. And the IPARD funds that every two months you come out here and say they will open, the opinga will open! The fairy tales with mommy that come to us from Europe don’t work with us! You couldn’t not pass those 35 opposition amendments! So that Marta Kos doesn’t turn into buttermilk, let her come here and not speak against the EP report and don’t tell us fairy tales with a king.”

In his response, Peleshi said: “First, there are some things that can be explained with watermelons, melons, corn and wheat, but some cannot. If you want my opinion, part of those citizens in the square are also when they hear you who think that the mandate was given to you as a license to say whatever you want, insult whoever you want, trample whoever you want, and give the worst example to children with your vocabulary.”
