He made the remarks during an interview with Euronews Albania when asked about the trial of former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leaders in The Hague.
Stier stressed that this truth must not be diminished or set aside for political reasons, emphasizing that the aggression launched by Serbia is an indisputable historical fact.
According to the MEP, when Serbian authorities discuss these developments, they focus solely on NATO’s intervention and bombing campaign, implying that nothing had happened before them.
He said NATO’s intervention had a clear purpose: to stop ethnic cleansing in Kosovo. Stier added that the war in Kosovo was the last conflict launched by Milošević and that these historical facts must not be overlooked.
