Corruption investigations in Ukraine reach Zelensky’s family, parents found with $11 million and describe it as “gifts”

The corruption scandal in Ukraine, involving senior officials close to President Volodymyr Zelensky, appears to go beyond the cases known so far, as the advancing investigations by anti-corruption authorities are bringing new names to light.

According to reports from Ukraine, cited by independent networks, people from the Ukrainian president’s closest family circle have recently come under scrutiny.

The case concerns deposits worth $11 million linked to Zelensky’s parents, which investigators from the anti-corruption service are reportedly examining as having been deposited into their account during 2025.

As part of this investigation, a search of their home had also been planned, but it was suspended after the intervention of his office.

However, Europa Today reports that the search by NABU’s Anti-Corruption Bureau was carried out on June 30, while the Ukrainian president’s parents, Oleksandr Zelensky and Rima Zelenska, were initially detained and later released.

When questioned about the source of the sum, they said it consisted of “gifts.”

According to the media outlet, almost immediately afterward there was a phone call with the commander of NABU from the head of the Ukrainian president’s office, Kirill Budanov, and the matter was discussed in detail.
