Albania’s State Police arrested Adrian Gjebeshi, also known as Adrian Merlika, today. The 40-year-old was arrested at a hotel he owns in the Fushë-Krujë area after being found with a handgun. During the search, police seized a firearm, a bulletproof vest and approximately €20,000 in cash.

According to information available, the operation to arrest him was carried out by the General Directorate of the State Police in cooperation with the Krujë Police Commissariat.
Adrian Gjebeshi’s name has been known to the authorities for years, and he has a lengthy criminal record. He also has a criminal record in Italy. In Albania, Gjebeshi was arrested in 2017, accused of “attempted murder,” in connection with an incident that occurred in 2015, when, at around 9 p.m., he attempted to kill a 25-year-old man in the center of Fushë-Krujë.
Meanwhile, the Lezhë Police had also identified Gjebeshi and declared him wanted in connection with an assault that took place in Lezhë in 2016. According to the statement issued at the time, Gjebeshi, who was 30 at the time, fled the scene after injuring a citizen identified by the initials A.M.
With his arrest today at his hotel in Fushë-Krujë, his years-long flight from justice has come to an end.
