Three people were killed in a serious road accident on Saturday evening on a highway in Paraguay’s Pedroso region.
The crash occurred shortly after 8:00 p.m. when a truck loaded with bricks, traveling toward Asuncion, suffered a brake system failure and struck vehicles waiting at a traffic light.

The driver tried to steer the truck to the left to avoid a collision, but the maneuver was unsuccessful. The heavy vehicle crashed into three stationary vehicles, while local media reported that, in addition to the three fatalities, 10 other passengers were injured.
The truck was traveling at such a high speed without brakes that, according to reports, it came to a stop only 80 meters after hitting the vehicles.
The crash also sparked a fire, while the electricity supply was cut off in the area where the tragedy occurred.
