Donald Trump has once again put his ambition to take control of Greenland in the spotlight, suggesting in public statements and several posts on his Truth Social platform that the territory could join the United States.

In one of his posts, Trump wrote that Greenland could become the 51st US state.
During an interview on Real America’s Voice, host Steve Gruber asked the US president whether his interest in Greenland remained. “Are you still looking at Greenland? I have predicted that before you leave office, it will be under the operational control of the United States,” Gruber asked.

Trump replied: “Yes, I think you’re right. Greenland is very important from our point of view. We have to take this step.”
He has long expressed a desire for the US to take control of Greenland, a semi-autonomous territory of Denmark, emphasizing its strategic importance to the defense of the United States.
Although he had previously said he would not rule out using force to take control of the territory, Trump later clarified that he did not intend to use military force.
He also raised the issue of Greenland at last month’s NATO summit, when he declared that it “must be under the control of the United States, not Denmark.”
