Burjani: No LVV-LDK agreement, new elections appear the most likely scenario

Political analyst Blerim Burjani has dismissed reports of an agreement between the Vetevendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo regarding the distribution of institutional posts. According to him, claims circulating in public are merely speculation.

“There is no agreement between LVV and LDK. Some individuals from Vetevendosje are speculating that an agreement has supposedly been reached, under which LDK would agree to give up the presidency in exchange for the post of Assembly speaker. This is not true, and no one in the opposition is interested in this position,” Burjani stated.

He believes these claims have caused unnecessary dissatisfaction within LDK.

“This speculation is causing even greater dissatisfaction within LDK. For this reason, it would be appropriate for LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku to publicly comment on this issue, since such an agreement has not been heard of anywhere except in some media outlets,” he said.

According to Burjani, the speculation was made public during the latest evening, while so far there is no concrete indication of an agreement between the two sides.

“This speculation became public this evening. So far, there has been no concrete development showing that there is an agreement between the parties,” he said.

In conclusion, Burjani says the option that appears most likely is for the country to head to new elections.

“What is known so far is that the country is heading toward new elections. For the moment, that is the only thing that is clear,” Burjani concluded.
