The Kosovo Women’s Network has reacted with great concern following the serious incident in Lower Livoç, Gjilan, where a woman is suspected of having been killed by her husband. Her brother also lost his life in the same incident, while another person was injured.

According to the Kosovo Women’s Network, the killing of a woman by her partner constitutes a serious act of violence and cannot be justified by previous conflicts or disagreements.
“No circumstance justifies taking a woman’s life. This incident once again reminds us of the fatal consequences of violence against women and the urgent need for effective prevention and institutional response.”
The organization called for the case to be fully investigated, all circumstances to be clarified, and the person responsible to face justice.
“Preventing these killings requires sustained institutional and social commitment, as well as concrete measures to guarantee women’s safety and lives.”
