Today, protests continued in Pristina’s squares, where hundreds of citizens gathered outside the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo to demand the approval of amendments to the Law on the Special Court.
War veteran Rrahman Ramadani said that the bill should also be voted on in its second reading, while he did not comment on the absence of LDK deputies from the session.
“The LDK has its own position, and we do not comment on that. It should have been approved by all Albanian parties, but they know their own affairs best,” Ramadani said.
Regarding the second reading, he said he had no doubts that the law would be approved again.
“I believe it will be approved. I have no doubt that it will be voted on in the second reading,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, citizen Raip Neziri described this as a very good step, although a delayed one.
“I see it as a good first step, but we are waiting. We still have a little time left, so let’s see how the procedure proceeds,” Neziri said.
He added that this is an obligation of the deputies toward the citizens of Kosovo and must be taken seriously.
“We will see later how the procedure proceeds. It must definitely be completed. The deputies must fulfill their obligation under the law toward the citizens. The citizens are demanding it, and they must vote,” Neziri said.
Asked what would happen if the bill were not approved in its second reading, he said that the citizens were there and would continue protesting.
“We will protest peacefully, not violently… We have no other home; this is our home. We have everything here together—whatever happens, whether good or bad, we face it together,” he concluded.
It is still unclear whether the bill will be submitted for a second reading today, while protests organized by the OVL-KLA continue outside the Assembly.
