VMRO-DPMNE today accused SDSM, DUI and Taravari of applying double standards toward their candidate, Valbon Limani, claiming that the public is not being given clear answers and that no one is taking responsibility for the water scandal in Gostivar.

According to the party, Limani has publicly stated that he feels no responsibility, while SDSM, DUI and Taravari, who speak daily about accountability, have chosen not to respond. VMRO-DPMNE says that instead of holding their candidate accountable, these parties are remaining silent.
VMRO-DPMNE believes this case once again demonstrates that the principles of these political parties are applied only when the aim is to attack political opponents. When responsibility involves their own officials, the party said, there is no criticism, no demand for resignations and no acceptance of responsibility.
The statement emphasizes that the citizens of Gostivar have the right to learn the full truth and that anyone who bears responsibility must be held accountable, regardless of political affiliation. Institutions and elected representatives, the party added, must answer to citizens rather than enjoy protection because of party interests.
For this reason, VMRO-DPMNE expects SDSM, DUI and Taravari to state publicly whether they agree with Valbon Limani’s position that no one should be held accountable for the water scandal, or whether they will finally side with the citizens and demand accountability.
“Citizens are entitled to transparency, accountability and the effective resolution of problems. This alone should be the priority of all officials, whether elected or appointed,” VMRO-DPMNE said./Telegrafi/
