Donald Trump is expected to hold three meetings with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, within a three-month period.

After Xi Jinping left for Beijing, the US president announced that the next meeting would be held in November in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, during the APEC summit. Another meeting between them is planned for December, at the G20 summit in Florida.
Trump described Xi Jinping’s visit to Washington this week as successful, saying that “a lot was accomplished” during it.
Meanwhile, the US president earlier announced on his platform that Scott Bessent would not be appointed to the position of “Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer.” According to Trump, he wanted Bessent to continue working as Treasury Secretary.
“First of all, he doesn’t want to. Second, he is doing a great job at the Treasury Department and I want him to stay there! Why would I make such a change?” Trump wrote.
Last week, Trump had said he intended to appoint an artificial intelligence adviser and create an “AI Force,” but he provided no further details about these initiatives or how they would be implemented.
