Mirel Haskaj, 48, and Florije Xhepa, 50, are the two sisters who tragically lost their lives after the car they were traveling in plunged into an irrigation canal near the exit of the village of Delisufaj. Haskaj was reportedly married and lived in the village.

Preliminary information indicates that the vehicle failed to cross the bridge and ended up in the water-filled canal. The powerful current swept the car away and carried it beneath the bridge.
The two sisters were unable to escape from the vehicle and drowned.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene, recovered the bodies and transported them to the Lushnjë morgue.
The investigative team is continuing its inquiries to fully determine the causes and circumstances of the serious accident.
