This morning, July 22, 2026, a serious incident has shaken the Kukës area, where a police officer from Kosovo was found lifeless in the cemetery of the village of Morinë.

The victim has been identified as Shaban Hajdari, a 35-year-old citizen living in Prizren and a member of the Rapid Response Unit in that city.
According to police information, his body was found without signs of life around 08:25 on July 22, 2026.
From the initial investigative actions, it is suspected that the 35-year-old lost his life as a result of suicide with a pistol firearm.
The weapon has been seized as material evidence.
A special investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecution, is continuing actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the event.
The State Police announced that they are cooperating with the Kosovo Police to verify whether the seized weapon is the officer’s service weapon, and to secure all data that will serve the full legal documentation of the case.
