New developments have emerged بشأن the killing of imam Gazmend Tairovci in Dragash.
According to the information made public, the victim was stabbed more than five times in the back. It was also disclosed that the doctor on duty, who comes from the same village, was at the scene, while no team was dispatched from the Main Family Medicine Center. This was also confirmed by the director of the center, who explained that the doctor, as a fellow villager of the victim, went to the scene and confirmed the death.

According to the reported information, the clash is suspected to have occurred over a property issue, more specifically over the cutting of grass (mowing), which belonged to the perpetrator Hamza, but which was allegedly mowed by the imam after he had earlier been warned not to do so again.
Earlier, journalist Zogaj had reported that the victim died as a result of wounds sustained from knife blows, while the suspect, who had been on the run, was arrested by Kosovo Police after a large-scale search operation. Meanwhile, the knife has still not been found.
The Council of the Islamic Community also reacted to the case, stressing that, based on the information they have, the incident is not related to the victim’s activity or duty as an imam.
