According to the opposition, Foreign Minister Timcho Mucunski conducted the negotiations, while Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski secured unrestricted transit for Mihailova across the border, with the approval of Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski.
“Instead of accountability from Toshkovski, the people are now witnessing a spectacle,” SDSM said, accusing the government of trying to shift the blame onto others and using a media campaign to divert attention from the case.
The opposition party is calling for all circumstances surrounding Mihailova’s departure to be thoroughly investigated, including whether certain officials issued agreements or instructions.
SDSM is demanding the resignation of Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski, as well as punishment for anyone found to have been involved in the case or to have failed to act within the scope of their powers.
“Citizens deserve the truth and justice, while the state deserves institutions that enforce the law,” SDSM said.
