Before the congress, Nedelkov reviewed the union’s work. According to him, significant progress has been made in recent years in the material conditions of employees in education, science and child protection.
He singled out agreements on wage increases as one of the achievements he is particularly pleased with. Nedelkov said the union secured higher incomes even when economic conditions were unfavorable and inflation had significantly reduced citizens’ purchasing power.
Comparing the results, he recalled that wages had previously usually increased by up to five percent. Union activities and talks with the relevant institutions, he said, made increases of 15 and 18 percent possible.
With today’s congress, Nedelkov’s many-year leadership of SASHK comes to an end. The election of a new chairman is expected to usher in another period for the union, which protects the interests of employees in education, science and culture. /Telegrafi/
