Adnan Rrustemi, a Vetëvendosje Movement MP, has sharply criticized former deputy minister Petrit Selimi, targeting him for his silence over a provocative statement by Serbian official Snežana Paunović. The minister had claimed that if she were in Slobodan Milošević’s position in 1998, she would have carried out ethnic cleansing against Kosovo.
Recalling an old episode, Rrustemi mentioned that Selimi was photographed alongside Ivica Dačić in Pristina 11 years ago. According to him, this moment and the recent statements of Dačić and Vučić’s collaborator show that Belgrade’s stance towards Albanians remains unchanged since Milošević’s time, even though it lacks the power it once had.

In a detailed reaction, Rrustemi said that Selimi gave no response whatsoever to the minister’s words. He added that a current response would serve as a distancing from what he described as a wrong policy and undignified behavior of that period. For the MP, today’s silence represents a ‘mistake upon mistake’.
