The investigation into the poisoning of 64 students at the Security Academy has been expanded, as Tirana Police are also examining the responsibility of the institutions that oversee food safety.
In this context, the Economic Crime Investigation Sector has obtained all the documentation held by the National Food Authority (AKU) regarding inspections carried out on the private company SORI-Al, which had supplied food to the Security Academy.

According to sources, police officers have seized the files and reports of every inspection carried out on this company from January up to the present day. The checks are aimed at determining whether these inspections were conducted in accordance with the law or whether irregularities were found that may have contributed to the repeated poisoning of the students.
Meanwhile, the investigative team is awaiting the results of laboratory analyses, which are expected to clarify the cause of the poisoning of the 64 students. They ended up in hospital after showing severe symptoms such as stomach pain, vomiting, fever and other health problems.
Depending on what emerges from the analyses and the evidence that will be gathered, the possibility remains open for the Prosecution to issue arrest warrants for the people found responsible for this incident.
