Lawmakers from the Democratic Party of Kosovo have entered the Assembly’s main chamber, demanding that the constitutive session resume.

Meanwhile, the head of the PDK parliamentary group, Arian Tahiri, is holding a press conference. He announced that “steps” would be taken to defend democracy and the Constitution.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the PDK wrote: “PDK is in the Assembly. CONSTITUTION – REPUBLIC! #OpenTheAssembly”.
The constitutive session of the Assembly, which began on July 6, has been adjourned twice in succession at the request of acting Prime Minister and LVV leader Albin Kurti.
Kurti has not nominated a candidate for speaker of parliament, as he believes that electing the speaker and deputy speakers of the Assembly would serve no purpose unless an agreement is first reached on the election of the President.
