Reports of police violence against two young Albanians from the Municipality of Saraj have prompted a reaction from its mayor, Muhamet Elmazi. He condemned the use of violence and any overstepping of authority by officials, expressing that he fully shares the families’ concern over the incident.

According to Elmazi, the role of the police is to protect citizens and represent security, professionalism, and the enforcement of the law. He emphasizes that it should not cause fear or insecurity among young people.
The mayor of Saraj expresses hope and confidence that the responsible institutions, Internal Control and the prosecution, will take all necessary measures to fully clarify the case. In his reaction, Elmazi describes accountability and respect for citizens as the only guarantee for a just and safe society.
Meanwhile, DUI has also reacted to the violence against the two young Albanians, demanding accountability for the incident. The party calls for the immediate launch of an impartial and transparent investigation to fully shed light on the case and ensure accountability for any violations committed by police officers.
DUI stresses that silence and the avoidance of responsibility cannot be accepted. Alongside these demands, the party has also called for the resignation of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Astrit Iseni. /Telegrafi/
