Locust colonies have caused significant damage to agricultural crops in the village of Boshanj, in Kolonjë.
Residents warn that the threat is also spreading to vineyards and hazelnut plantations, calling for an immediate response from the responsible institutions.

Farmers say the phenomenon has been recurring for the third consecutive year, but the damage recorded this season is more severe than in previous years.
According to them, a full year’s work and investment are being destroyed in just a few days, while the spraying carried out so far has not proved effective.
Residents stress that many families could be left without the produce they need for consumption, as well as without food reserves for livestock during the winter.
After Boshanj residents reported the situation, News24 sought information from the Regional Directorate of Agriculture. The institution is aware of the problem, but has not yet undertaken any on-site intervention.
