Korreshi Jabs at Manja Over Kanye West: I’m a Villager, I Listen to Luan Xhegu; All of Myzeqe Sings for 2 Million Old Lek

During a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs, Democratic Party MP Saimir Korreshi mocked the government over singer Kanye West’s concert, for which €4.2 million was allocated. While trading jokes with Ulsi Manja, he asked where the concert tickets had ended up.

Korreshi asked whether the ministry had secured tickets for them as well or whether they had been reserved only for the Socialist Party. “Why, didn’t the party allow us? The party did not allow us and tore up our tickets. Did the ministry bring any tickets for us, or were they only for the Socialist Party? You told me the party did not allow you,” he said.

Manja replied that Korreshi had wanted to attend the concert and should admit that as well.

The Democratic Party MP continued sarcastically, saying he had only learned who the singer was after finding out that he would receive €4.2 million. “I’m a villager. I still listen to Luan Zhegu. You’re modern and danced to oopsy-doopsy, while we want a tambourine. How was this money distributed? The gates and the sea were thrown open, like on July 2. Where did the tickets end up? We cannot understand it. In Lushnjë, all of Myzeqe will sing for 2 million old lek. What is that singer’s name? Kanye West,” Korreshi said.
