KHMI said significant convective activity is forecast throughout the day. In certain regions, this could bring heavy rainfall, hail and strong, storm-force winds.

These weather conditions could significantly increase the risk of lightning strikes, posing a threat to people and animals. They could also damage the electricity grid, cause power outages and disrupt telecommunications systems.

Localized flash flooding may occur in areas experiencing the heaviest rainfall. Meanwhile, strong winds and hail could damage buildings, vehicles, infrastructure and crops. The institute also warned of an increased fire risk due to lightning strikes.

Citizens are advised not to remain in open areas during storms and to avoid sheltering under isolated trees, near utility poles or close to metal objects. They should also take measures to protect their property and vehicles from hail and strong winds.

Due to slippery roads and reduced visibility, KHMI urged motorists to exercise additional caution. Citizens are advised to follow announcements and guidance from the relevant institutions until the warning period ends.

The alert will remain in effect on July 22, from 00:00 to 23:59. KHMI said it will continue to monitor weather conditions and issue further updates if necessary.
