Following the killing of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the climate of tension continues to escalate. The Iranian newspaper Hamshari, which is close to the Tehran Municipality, has made public what it calls a “blacklist” of leaders it considers responsible for his death.
The publication features 13 leaders and senior officials dressed in the orange uniforms of American prisoners. Above their photos appears the phrase in Persian, “Revenge is inevitable,” while the message is accompanied by the warning: “The criminals will take to the grave their desire for a peaceful death,” clearly implying a violent end.

At the top of this list are Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump, who are also shown with a target mark on their foreheads.
In the list published by Hamshari, in addition to Trump and Netanyahu, are Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, and the Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Eyal Zamir.
The publication came out on the same day that Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, called for revenge against those whom Tehran holds responsible for the killing of his father.
So far, there have been no official reactions from the figures included on the list, while the publication is being interpreted as another sign of the hardening rhetoric between Iran and Western countries.
