Vlora Municipality, supported by the Territorial Protection Inspectorate and Municipal Police, launched an operation on Monday to demolish unauthorized structures and extensions in the area of the former Old Court, where a new market is planned and the entire area is to be restored.

During Monday’s operation, a considerable number of illegal structures were demolished, along with extensions and kiosks used as retail and service outlets. Under the redevelopment plan, these structures had encroached on communal areas and obscured the facades of buildings of historical value, making it difficult to showcase and restore them.
The operation will continue over the coming days until the entire area has been cleared, paving the way for restoration work and the construction of the modern market.
