Former Kosovo Assembly member Gani Geci has been arrested and is being held in police custody for 48 hours on the prosecutor’s orders.

The Kosovo Police daily report states that Geci is suspected of the criminal offense of threatening journalist Lirim Mehmetaj.
After questioning was completed, the prosecutor ordered that the suspect remain in police custody for 48 hours.
The case has officially been classified as the criminal offense of making threats.
The police statement reads: “On 13.10.2023, a male Kosovo citizen was arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of ‘making threats’ against the victim, a male Kosovo citizen who is a journalist. Following questioning, the prosecutor ordered that the suspect be held in police custody for 48 hours.”
