The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy has informed the public that, in accordance with the Government’s instructions and the requests of forest users — the National Forests public enterprise and the National Parks that administer protected areas — approval has been granted to impose a complete ban on movement in forests and forest land.
According to the Ministry, this approval was adopted on the basis of Article 57, paragraph 3 of the Law on Forests, due to the increased risk and with the aim of preventing forest fires in open areas.

The complete ban on movement in forests will begin on July 1, 2026 and will remain in force until August 31, 2026. During this period, entry into and movement through forests will be allowed only with a written permit issued by the regional units of the National Forests public enterprise and by the National Parks, respectively for the territories they manage.
The Ministry stresses that for violating this complete ban in forests and on forest land, individuals caught moving through these areas, in accordance with Article 106 of the Law on Forests, will be punished with a fine of 1,500 to 2,000 euros in denar equivalent.
