The report, published on October 9 by journalist Asra Q. Nomani, identifies 50 organizations involved in the network. Only 15 of them are classified as student or youth groups, while the others are unions, communist and socialist organizations, political parties, human rights groups and activist structures.
According to the article, these organizations are coordinating mobilization efforts, calling for strikes and protests, and sharing footage of clashes on social media, presenting the situation in France as part of a broader international wave.
Protesters gather around the Monument à la République in Paris on October 4, 2026, during nationwide demonstrations against the education system. A masked protester holds a red Soviet Union flag bearing the communist hammer and sickle.

One-third of the identified organizations are student groups
Fox News’ analysis says that 15 of the 50 identified organizations are student or youth groups. This category also includes communist youth movements and a Muslim student association.
The other 35 structures consist of around 12 unions, eight communist or socialist organizations, five groups dealing with various social issues, five civil and human rights organizations, four political parties and one organization supporting the Palestinian cause.
The parties mentioned include La France Insoumise and the French Communist Party. According to the investigation, their presence indicates that the movement has gone beyond students’ dissatisfaction with conditions in educational institutions.
Smoke spreads around protesters as they march toward Place de la Bastille in Paris on October 8, 2026, as part of a nationwide protest movement over learning conditions. Orange vests bear the acronym “CGT” for Confédération générale du travail, a union. Protesters carry a purple flag of La France Insoumise, a political party, and a red flag of Fédération Syndicale Étudiante, a student group.
A collaboration between the left and Islamist groups
Fox News claims that the network extends from classrooms and unions in France to communist organizations in Greece and Britain, as well as to international media outlets with a left-wing orientation.

According to the investigation, the protests have been linked to other political issues, including opposition to capitalism, economic austerity measures, policing policies, military spending and positions toward Israel.
Mike Gonzalez, a researcher at the Heritage Foundation, told Fox News that this case involves cooperation between left-wing groups and Islamist organizations, which, in his view, are united by opposition to Western institutions.
The article emphasizes that France has a long history of protests, powerful unions and an established communist party. According to the analysis, the organizations involved seek deeper political and economic changes than the traditional demands of the left-wing opposition.

Calls for “the right to rebel”
Since late September, representatives of La France Insoumise have been seen cooperating with students who organized school blockades in Seine-Saint-Denis, northeast of Paris, the investigation says.

French-Moroccan journalist Nora Bussigny has written that some representatives of the party have attempted to place the student protest under political control, encouraging its escalation and questioning the legitimacy of institutions, including the police.
On October 6, a network of left-wing organizations called on tens of thousands of students and supporters to march in Paris. The protests later spread to other cities as well.
Student organizations such as Union Syndicale Lycéenne, Union Étudiante and Union Nationale des Étudiants de France took part in the mobilization. They were joined by workers’ and teachers’ unions, which called for strikes and demonstrations in support of the students.
The National Confederation of Labor declared that the students’ demands aligned with its own and expressed support for the revolt.
Tens of thousands of high school students and their supporters march from Place de la République to Place de la Nation on October 6, 2026, in Paris. What began in late September 2026 as peaceful blockades in the low-income Paris suburb of Seine-Saint-Denis quickly escalated into a major public-order crisis for the government of President Emmanuel Macron.
Communist flags and slogans about “class war”
According to Fox News, flags belonging to radical left-wing organizations, as well as communist symbols, were seen during the October 6 protest in Paris.
Some protesters wore Palestinian scarves and marched behind banners reading “Against imperialist wars.” One of the banners also carried the slogan “Class war,” accompanied by the hammer-and-sickle symbol.

The banner was associated with the French Communist Youth organization, which cooperates with the French Communist Party.
Through social media, the organization also announced the creation of democratic and antifascist vigilance committees. In its statements, it claimed that students were being neglected, pro-Palestinian activists were being persecuted and union members were being dismissed from their jobs.
Young communists hold a banner reading “Contre Les Guerres Impérialistes,” protesting against “imperialist wars” as part of the student protests in France.
Participation by the French Communist Party
Fabien Roussel, the national secretary of the French Communist Party, was photographed during the demonstrations alongside protesters. Later, on the social network X, he wrote that he was standing with students in Paris, together with communist representatives and activists.

Fox News writes that the French Communist Party has meanwhile continued its political campaigns, including calls to halt the supply of weapons to Israel.
Other radical left-wing organizations, including Nouveau Parti anticapitaliste, Le Poing Levé and Révolution Permanente, have also expressed support for solidarity between high school students and university activists.
Protesters hold Palestinian and Antifa flags as French high school and university students take part in a demonstration in Strasbourg.
Palestinian symbols in French protests
A separate section of the investigation focuses on the use of Palestinian symbols during the protests in France.

In Saint-Denis, where the protests began, the organization Parti des Indigènes de la République published a photograph of several young people in front of Lycée Paul Éluard, showing them with the Palestinian flag.
Étudiants Musulmans de France called on its followers to take part in protests for young people’s right to study with dignity. Activists from Urgence Palestine also participated in the demonstrations, carrying Palestinian flags.
French lawmaker Louis Boyard, a member of La France Insoumise, was also seen with the Palestinian flag alongside students who had blockaded the campus of Paris-Est-Créteil University.
According to Fox News, these episodes demonstrate that the protests have become intertwined with other political and international causes.
Democratic Party member Hasan Piker and CodePink co-founder Jodie Evans of CodePink meet in Cuba as part of the “United Front” supporting the communist regime.
The Singham network and the distribution of footage from France

One of the main elements of the analysis is the role of BreakThrough News, a New York-based media outlet that Fox News describes as a pro-communist platform funded by entrepreneur Neville Roy Singham.
According to the article, Singham is an American technology entrepreneur based in Shanghai who has funded communist and radical left-wing organizations in the United States and other countries.
BreakThrough News published an article describing the French protests as a historic strike against economic austerity measures. The outlet also shared a video of Saint-Denis Mayor Bally Bagayoko during a confrontation with police, presenting him as a defender of students facing law enforcement.
The video received around 346,000 likes within one day, according to the investigation. Among the accounts that reacted to it was that of influencer Hasan Piker, who describes himself as a Marxist, as well as accounts belonging to other organizations linked to Singham’s network.
Fox News also mentions CodePink, an organization co-founded by Jodie Evans, Singham’s wife, which, according to the outlet, has received $1.33 million from him.
Another platform included in the report is teleSUR, an international television network that published footage of clashes between students and French police.
International support, from France to Greece, India and the US
The investigation emphasizes that solidarity with the protesters has not come solely from French organizations.

The Communist Youth Organization of Greece publicly declared its support for French students. BreakThrough News included the statement in its reporting, presenting the protest as an event that could be followed by other student movements.
The article also mentions Indian Alliance Paris, a France-based organization made up of students, researchers and professionals interested in issues concerning India.
Saint-Denis Mayor Bally Bagayoko, a member of the left-wing party La France Insoumise, reacts as clashes take place between demonstrators and riot police during a protest against education conditions and to highlight the lack of resources and staff in high schools in Paris.
In 2023, Indian Alliance Paris co-organized an event in Manhattan against NATO expansion. For this initiative, it cooperated with People’s Forum, a New York center founded in 2017 with $22.44 million in funding from Singham, according to Fox News.
The network mentioned also includes Democratic Socialists of America, CodePink and Party for Socialism and Liberation, organizations that have cooperated in organizing protests in the United States.
In January, Indian Alliance Paris also published a statement of solidarity with young people protesting in France and India.
According to the analysis, this cooperation creates a mechanism through which radical left-wing organizations distribute protest footage from different countries and then present it as evidence of a growing global revolt.
Fox News concludes the article by noting that BreakThrough News published a montage featuring footage from the United States, Spain, India, France, Brazil, Belgium, Chile and Germany. The video showed young people protesting, clashing with police and waving communist flags. The footage was accompanied by the slogan: “Young people are rising around the world.”
