An elderly man dressed in a traditional costume joined the protest outside the Ministry of Education. Speaking to News24 journalist Klevis Muka, he said that he did not represent any political force, but had come out in support of the students and citizens.
“I do not represent any party. I do not want to be infected by any of them; I stand with Albanians. I support the students. I was born in Mirdita, in a village that has been without a sewage system for 35 years.

That is why I am protesting over the pensions of pensioners my age, so that the pensions law is implemented, for all the facilities in the village and not just in the city. All of Albania should be beautified. I belong to no party. The youth here is the most beautiful party in the world, and it is being washed and poisoned,” the elderly man said.
