RaiNews has reported on the support Albanian singer Dua Lipa has given to the protests that have been taking place in Tirana for 46 days.
During a conversation with Albanian writer Lea Ypi on the Service95 Book Club podcast, Dua Lipa sided with protesters opposing plans to build a luxury resort in Albania linked to Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner.

The artist said she shares the concerns raised about the project’s transparency, describing the public mobilisation as “inspiring”. According to her, particularly concerning is the principle that allows the government to amend the law and revoke environmental protections without holding any public consultation.
The article says the tourism project, estimated to be worth $4.6 billion, was initially proposed for 2024. The protests began at the end of May, following the installation of fences and the arrival of bulldozers in the affected area, and have continued daily in Tirana ever since.
