Acting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla, has reacted strongly to the serious crime that took the life of a 25-year-old woman in the village of Kërvasari in Malisheva.

She called on security and justice institutions to conduct a swift, comprehensive, and uncompromising investigation, so that the circumstances of the incident are fully clarified and the perpetrator is brought to justice.
“Violence against women is not a private matter. It is not a family conflict. It is not ‘household business.’ Violence against women is a crime and there will be zero tolerance towards it,” Gërvalla emphasized in a firm statement.
The minister described this tragic event as a strong alarm signal for the entire society and state apparatus. She stressed that the response cannot come only after the loss of a life, but that violence must be stopped before it reaches irreversible proportions.
In her role as National Coordinator for Protection from Domestic Violence, Violence against Women, and Gender-Based Violence, Gërvalla insisted that this case be handled with the utmost seriousness and that every detail be examined.
“A woman has been killed. In the face of violence against women, there can be no silence, justifications, or indifference. There is only one answer: justice and only justice, and zero tolerance for domestic violence, violence against women, and gender-based violence,” she concluded.
At the end of her reaction, Gërvalla expressed sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim.
