State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi has decided not to revoke the mandate of Kuçova Mayor Kreshnik Hajdari, concluding that in his case the conditions set out by the decriminalization law are not met.
It is learned that this decision was made after reviewing the request of former opposition candidate Lefter Maliqi, who claimed that Hajdari had falsified his self-declaration form by concealing a previous conviction in Greece.

Following this move, Kreshnik Hajdari can officially continue to carry out his duties as mayor of Kuçova.
“We are not in the conditions for prohibition because of the decriminalization law. The subject is not in the conditions of prohibition under the law, according to the reading I make as Commissioner,” Celibashi said.
