Participants are demanding that the head of government resign immediately, while voicing their dissatisfaction over economic hardship, rising prices, and difficult living conditions.
At the site of the rally, an elderly woman spoke to News24 television, describing with emotion and indignation the daily problems faced by pensioners in the country.
She said the protest would continue until Edi Rama’s departure and called on everyone to join the rally after 64 days of occupying the square. The elderly woman stressed that the protesters would not leave without the prime minister’s resignation, while denouncing extremely low pensions, the inability to buy necessary medicines, and the fact that, according to her, hospital patients are not examined unless they pay.
