Citizens have gathered in Skanderbeg Square, from where they are expected to begin marching along the boulevard toward the Prime Minister’s Office. After arriving outside the executive building, speeches will be delivered in which protesters will voice their concerns and objections to the government’s policies.

The protesters’ main demand is that Edi Rama step down as prime minister. Their platform also calls for the establishment of a transitional government with a 12-month mandate, which would prepare the country for the upcoming elections.

Another of their demands is the repeal of several legislative initiatives which, according to the protesters, undermine the interests of Albanian citizens.

Organizers have announced that the rallies will continue in the coming days and that the protest will not end until their demands are met.
