In Skanderbeg Square, where the protest began, a citizen appeared holding a placard bearing the image of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku. In a statement to News24, he called for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, as well as the removal of Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha.
“We are at the protest in support of the youth and we are demanding that Rama and Berishaa step down. Balluku, under Rama’s rule, has stolen our money. We are demanding the resignation of Rama and Berisha without negotiation. Yesterday, amid that downpour, the youth showed how determined they were,” he said.
