Security expert Avni Islami has assessed that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is following the same rhetorical line as former Serbian President Slobodan Milošević, linking the symbolism of Vidovdan with the nationalist policies of the past.
He said that Serbia’s announcement of military exercises on June 28 cannot be seen as a coincidence, but rather as a provocation in security terms and as political pressure directed at Kosovo.

Islami underlined that Kosovo’s security institutions remain prepared for any situation, stressing that the Kosovo Police and the Kosovo Intelligence Agency are at a high level of readiness to prevent any provocation or possible incident.

Likewise, the Kosovo Intelligence Agency is on high alert to identify and neutralize any tendency toward staging provocations or incidents.
