ASH says that the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications from VLEN has neither the political legitimacy nor the institutional backing to boast about Corridor 8.
According to them, this investment is neither VLEN’s merit nor its success. On the contrary, they stress that VLEN is neither consulted nor involved in the Government’s decision-making when it comes to major infrastructure projects. They add that citizens do not need daily propaganda, but are demanding direct answers on when Corridor 8 will be completed, why the funds for 2026 have been reduced, and why the key section linking the country with Albania should not pass through Struga.

ASH believes that UNESCO cannot be used as an argument selectively. As they say, it cannot be presented as an insurmountable obstacle to the connection with Albania while at the same time being disregarded when it comes to thousands of illegal buildings and hundreds of unimplemented demolition decisions in Ohrid, the hometown of Aleksandar Nikollovski. According to them, this is not a technical problem, but a political double standard.
In its reaction, ASH stresses that VLEN may continue repeating the positions of its leaders, but citizens, according to them, are fully aware that this party does not decide, does not wield influence, and does not protect the public interest.
